On November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. used a rifle to shoot and kill six members of his family as they lay in their beds at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York. Five of the victims were found face down in their beds, while the sixth was found in a closet. He claimed voices told him to kill his family, a chilling detail that became part of the house’s darker legend.
A year later, the Lutz family moved into the house. After just 28 days, they fled, claiming they had experienced a series of disturbing paranormal phenomena, including unexplained cold spots, apparitions, foul odors, voices telling them to “get out,” and a demonic pig-like figure with glowing red eyes.
